Many women are embarrassed by the appearance of elongated or asymmetrical labia. Many experience discomfort in tight clothing or during sex. Labiaplasty is a procedure to reduce the size of the labia minora.
Before Procedure
At your first consultation with Dr Moko, she will listen to your concerns regarding your labia. She will obtain a thorough medical history and physical examination. She will give you an honest appraisal of what can be achieved, outlining the details of the procedure and the possible risks.
Procedure
Generally, labiaplasty is performed under general anaesthesia. Dr Moko will infiltrate local anaesthetic to provide pain relief when you awake. The excess labial skin is trimmed and repaired with dissolving sutures.
After Procedure
You go home on the day of surgery and resume light activities the next day. Swelling and bruising is normal, but subsides after a few days.
You can return to work after 1 week, and resume sport and intercourse after 1 month.
